Fashion runway videography that shows every look

Every look filmed the way the designer meant it, from the first walk to the finale.

In short

  • A runway film needs every look seen clearly, so we plan the camera positions around the catwalk first.
  • Choose a full show recording, a designer-by-designer cut, a short highlight film, or a mix.
  • Designer priorities and model and organiser permissions are agreed before the show.
  • Backstage and audience coverage are optional and agreed in advance.

A runway film’s first job is to show every look clearly, front on, as it walks. We plan the cameras around the catwalk first, then add the atmosphere of the audience, the front row and, if you want it, backstage.

What we film and for whom

A show may have one collection or many designers. The film may be for the designers, for sponsors, or for the brand’s own channels.

Tell us who will use the film. A designer wants each look in full. A sponsor often wants the crowd and branding. A brand’s social team wants short moments that work on a phone.

The films you can choose

Film What it is Best for
Full show recording The whole runway, start to finish, from a steady front position Designers’ records, show archive, press
Look-by-look cut Each look shown clearly, in running order Lookbooks, buyers, model portfolios
Designer cuts A separate film for each designer from the same show Shows with several collections
Highlight film An edited story with music, crowd and finale Sharing the atmosphere. See event highlight films
Short clips Vertical cuts for social media Posting soon after the show. See event social video clips

A short film cannot show every look. If the collection is the point, ask for the full recording as well. Choosing complete performances or a promotional recap explains the trade-off.

What we agree before the show

The best runway coverage is decided in the planning stage. We agree with you:

  1. Running order: designers, look counts and any pauses, ideally from the show producer or stage manager.
  2. Designer priorities: which details, such as fabric movement, accessories or the finale walk, matter most.
  3. Permissions: what models and the organiser have agreed for filming and for online use.
  4. Camera positions: where we may stand, where cables can run, and how the lighting and photographers’ positions affect the view.
  5. Backstage and audience: whether to include them, and who should not be filmed.
  6. Outputs: which films, how they are labelled, and how you review them.

The run-sheet filming planner helps you turn the running order into a filming plan. It is optional; we can build it with you.

How we work on the day

Before the audience is seated, we check the catwalk, the lighting and the camera positions. One camera holds the continuous front view so that no look is missed. Additional operators, if the show needs them, add side angles, details and the audience. See multi-camera event recording for what a second or third operator involves.

Runway lighting is often dramatic and changes quickly. We ask your production team about the lighting cues, so the footage stays clean through colour changes and spotlights.

Rehearsal and optional extras

A rehearsal is a useful chance to test camera positions without the pressure of an audience. If your venue allows it, tell us the rehearsal time and we can plan around it.

Some extras are available on request, confirmed for each event: a same-day edit for screening at an after-party, or an event live feed to show the runway on side screens. Each depends on your venue, crew and schedule.

For a runway show, the quote moves mostly with the number of designers and looks, the rehearsal time and the films you choose. See how pricing works. Send us the show date and the number of looks, and we will suggest camera positions and the films that fit.

If you can share the show date, the venue and roughly how many looks or designers are walking, that is enough for us to suggest camera positions and the films that fit. We will then check whether we can be there.

Questions people ask

Can you film every look from a runway show?
That is the usual aim, and we plan for it. We agree the look order with your show producer, place cameras so each look is seen from the front as it walks, and keep one continuous recording of the whole show. Last-minute order changes are why we ask for a running order from the stage manager.
Do you film backstage as well?
Only if you want it. Backstage can show fittings, make-up and the energy before the show, but it also involves models and designers in private moments. We agree which areas and people are included, and what stays out of anything shared publicly.
Can each designer receive their own film?
Yes, this can be set up. Tell us how many designers or collections are showing, and we plan separate cuts from the same recording. Names and look order need to be confirmed before the show so the files are labelled correctly.
Do models need to give permission?
Usually the organiser or agency holds the model agreements, so please check what they cover for filming and for sharing online. We film within what you confirm, and leave out anyone who has not agreed.
Can we have a clip ready for social media the same night?
A same-day edit or short clips can be arranged. They depend on the show finishing on time and a fast approval, so we talk through the schedule with you first.
