In short
- An anniversary film looks back at the years and around at the people, so it is planned differently from wedding coverage.
- The form of the day is yours: vow renewal, prayers, a dinner or a family lunch.
- Old photos and wedding footage can be woven in, if you have them.
- The couple decides what stays private and what is shared.
An anniversary or vow renewal is not a repeat of the wedding. We film the gathering you are actually having, built around the two of you, your children and grandchildren, and the words you want to keep.
What we film, and for whom
We cover the occasions couples ask about most, for example:
- Vow renewals in a place of worship, a hall, a garden or at home.
- Anniversary dinners and lunches with family and friends, from a quiet table to a hall.
- Milestone years, where children or grandchildren organise the day as a gift.
- Thanksgiving prayers or blessings held alongside the celebration.
The form of the day is yours. Some couples want a formal renewal, others only a toast and a cake. The person organising is often a son, daughter or friend, and we are happy to plan with them.
How is it different from wedding coverage?
A wedding film follows preparation, ceremony and reception. An anniversary film is watched partly by the couple and partly by the next generation, so it centres on different things.
- Words matter more than spectacle. Toasts, messages from children and a few words from the couple often become the heart of the film.
- Faces tell the story. Who is sitting where, who is helping a grandparent, who is laughing at the old photos.
- The past can sit beside the present. Wedding footage, photos or letters can be edited into the film. For existing material, see editing from existing footage.
- The guest list is smaller and more familiar. We usually need fewer cameras, and we introduce ourselves to older guests so nobody is surprised.
If you want to compare, our wedding videography page describes wedding coverage.
The films you can choose
| Film | What it is | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Highlight film | A short, edited story of the gathering | Sharing with relatives who could not come |
| Full vow and speech recording | Vows, blessings and speeches kept complete | Keeping every word for the family |
| Messages reel | Short greetings from family and friends | A gift for the couple |
| Short clips | Vertical or square cuts | Quick sharing in family chats |
Ask for a full recording if the vows or a parent’s blessing matter. A highlight film cannot hold all of it.
What we agree before the day
- The form of the day: what will happen, where and in what order.
- The people: the couple, children, grandchildren and anyone giving a speech, described by role.
- The must-have moments, and any moment that should stay unfilmed. The must-capture moments checklist helps you write this down.
- Old material: whether you want photos or earlier footage included, and who will supply it.
- Who sees what: which versions stay with the family and which may be posted. The private and public version planner can guide that conversation.
How we work on the day
We keep the crew small and quiet. We ask for a short word with the couple before the event, so we know who to look for. If a short interview with the couple or a family member would help, we can find a calm moment for it: see event interview filming. Nobody is pressed to speak on camera.
In a home or a small hall we check the sound and light before guests arrive, so the vows and toasts can be heard clearly.
Tell us the venue and date, and we confirm the crew and travel.
The quote depends on the hours, the number of camera operators, whether old material is edited in and the films you choose. See how pricing works. For related family occasions, read the family celebrations guide.
This is where we help. Message us the form of the day, the date and the venue, and we will suggest coverage and send a written quote.
Tell us what kind of gathering it is, who will be there and which moments matter most to the two of you. That is enough for us to suggest coverage and check whether we can film on your date.
